Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was requested by the school’s Principal Mrs M. Govender to fly in with the RUSA Helicopter and attend the World Read Aloud Day to make the event memorable for the students.
Both Officers read out “It Starts With A Story” by Tumisang Shongwe to two groups on the school ground at 09:30 (Wednesday).

A motorist fled with a pedestrian he ran over after several drug users threatened to rob him and his passengers on the south bound lane of R102 between Verulam & Canelands - KZN this morning (Tuesday).
At approximately 06:56, a blue Toyota Corolla arrived at Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) HQ requesting medical assistance for the 20 year old pedestrian. According to the driver, the pedestrian fled into his path of travel when he ran over him. The driver stopped to assist. Several individuals exited the bush and began harassing him & his three passengers. He believed that they intended on robbing them.
They loaded the injured pedestrian into their vehicle and sped off.

The community of Parkgate - KZN bayed for the blood of a 15 year old boy accused of sodomising three children and forcing them to perform oral sex on him.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to a cul de sac in C Section at approximately 19:52 this afternoon (Tuesday) after a crowd consisting of nearly 100 people gathered at the accused’s residence and threatened to kill him & his family.

On arrival, Reaction Officers were informed that a voice note was being circulated. The person in the audio clip stated that the teenager sodomised three friends aged between five (5) & seven (7) and forced them to perform oral sex on him. The teenager allegedly confirmed the allegations levied against him when he was confronted by the mob.

The boy was handed over to the Verulam SAPS for further investigation.
